Pastoral care

dsc04110

Welfare assistants, who are qualified in first aid, care for sick, injured or distressed children. It is essential for parents to provide the school with up-to-date telephone numbers for use in an emergency. Medication will only be administered under specific circumstances as specified in the school’s policy for first aid and medicines. No child must ever be asked to bring their medication to or from the medical room themselves. The school liaises closely with the school and community health service, the educational social worker and Harrow social services.

Kenmore Park Infant and Nursery School is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all children in school, following the Harrow local safeguarding children’s board procedures. The school will, in most circumstances, endeavour to discuss all concerns with parents about their child/children. However, there may be exceptional circumstances when the school will discuss concerns with children’s services and/or the police without parental knowledge (in accordance with child protection procedures). The school will, of course, always aim to maintain a positive relationship with all parents. The school’s child protection policy is available on request.
